Chapters & Sectors
IIFC’s work is carried forward through two connected pathways: Chapters and Sector Committees.
Chapters
Chapters are community-rooted, place-based groups that support Indigenous fashion, design, and arts locally and regionally. They create space for connection, mentorship, education, showcases, and partnerships—while staying aligned with IIFC’s shared values of cultural integrity, ethical practice, and authentic representation.
Sector Committees
Sector Committees are focused working groups made up of Indigenous leaders and collaborators with expertise across key areas of the fashion ecosystem (such as design, textiles and making, media, education, sustainability, business, and more). Sector Committees help shape standards, develop programs and resources, and strengthen pathways and protections for Indigenous creatives worldwide.
What They’re Doing
Across Chapters and Sectors, IIFC teams are building initiatives that support:
Authentic representation in fashion, media, and cultural institutions
Education and mentorship for emerging and established Indigenous talent
Scholarship and grants development for chapter and sector-led projects
Community-led convenings, showcases, and collaborations
Cultural integrity and accountability in partnerships and storytelling
More updates are coming soon. This section of the website will continue to grow as Chapters and Sector Committees are formally launched, projects are announced, and opportunities to participate are posted.
